Goldman Sachs and Netflix report earnings
European stock markets are expected to launch today's trading higher following solid gains made during the Asian session. Treasury Secretary nominee Janet Yellen will testify before the Senate Finance Committee today and is expected to tell lawmakers that low borrowing costs should be used to act big. However, as text of her speech was already released, the event may not be a trigger for bigger market moves. Wall Street earnings season is slowly gathering pace - Netflix and Goldman Sachs can be found among today's reporters. Last but not least, today is Trump's final full day in the office so traders should look out for any actions he may take. However, any big moves (like lifting travel bans to Europe and Brazil) are likely to be overturned by Joe Biden.
