As the economic calendar is almost empty today, headlines may play a major role. There are no material stats from Europe and from the US economic data is limited to house price figures that will likely have a muted impact on the markets. Therefore investors' attention will focus on further news regarding the extended stimulus package. US House of Representatives has approved an increase in stimulus from $600 a person to $2,000. The bill now heads to the Upper House, the Senate, which convenes on Tuesday. However, the Republicans in the Senate do not support this idea, therefore the future of the increased checks is still uncertain.
