Powell to speak on central bank innovation
According to the futures markets, European equity indices are seen opening either flat or slightly lower today. Big moves occurred on the Turkish lira market after Erdogan fired CBRT Governor but apart from that, trading has been quite calm so far.
As it is usually the case for Mondays, the economic calendar is almost empty. US housing market data is the only noteworthy reading scheduled for today but it seldom has a meaningful impact on the markets. However, a number of central bankers will deliver speeches today, including Fed Chairman Powell. Powell will speak on innovations in central banking during a Bank for International Settlements event.
