BoE Governor and ECB President set to speak
Futures markets point to a higher opening of the European session today. While trading during the Asian session was rather mixed, moods began to improve as the European open drew near. The day ahead does not feature many top-tier releases. US durable goods orders data for August will be released in the early afternoon but its market impact is usually small. However, investors will get to hear from some central bankers today, including ECB President Lagarde and BoE Governor Bailey. The week ahead is packed with speeches from central bankers with Jerome Powell being scheduled to speak 3 times - twice during testimony in Congress and once at ECB event on Wednesday.
1:30 pm BST - US, durable goods orders for August.
