1:30 pm BST - US, Empire manufacturing index for September. Today’s Empire reading will be one of the final pieces of the US data ahead of the FOMC decision on Wednesday. However, it seems unlikely that the Federal Reserve will pay bigger attention to this print given solid CPI and retail sales from the previous week. Market expects a small decline from 4.8 pts in August to 4 pts in September.

The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, will travel to Luxembourg today in order to meet with the President of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker. The two will, of course, discuss Brexit. However, one should not have high expectations as Johnson already said he will reject any extension offer. However, the UK Prime Minister keeps reiterating that he stays committed to finding a divorce deal therefore we may see some softer comments in the aftermath of the meeting. Traders should stay tuned as the exact timing of the meeting remains unknown.
