Today’s reading came in above market expectations of 0.320 million. It is the highest reading in 4 weeks. Four-week moving average was 335K, down 750 from the previous week's average of 336.5K.
Continuing claims reading, which lags initial jobless claims data by one week, increased to 2.845 million, while analysts expected a decrease to 2.650 million.
