ASML (ASML.US) ADRs jumped over 6.0% after the chipmaker posted better than expected quarterly earnings and revenue figures including record new orders.
- Company earned $4.23 per share on revenue of $5.69 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet expected ASML earnings of $3.75 a share on sales of $5.49 billion. Last year, ASML earned $4.97 a share on sales of $6.1 billion.
- For the current quarter, the company expects revenue of $6.23 billion, based on the midpoint of its outlook, below market estimates of $6.375 billion.
- Also the company does not expect to be negatively affected by the latest US restrictions on sales of advanced chips to China.
